How long have you been at Gemporia, and how long have you been a presenter?

“I’ve been a presenter for thirteen years, and I joined the Gemporia family almost ten years ago.”

What is your earliest Gemporia memory?

“When I first joined Gemporia, we were taken to India to see where our jewellery is made, and it was such an incredible week.

“It was fascinating to learn more about how our gems are cut and to see the meticulous process of how each stunning jewellery design comes to fruition!”

What is your favourite gemstone and why?

“Every gemstone is beautiful and unique, so it should be very difficult to pick. However, for me there will always be one clear winner and that is Emerald!

“Each one has its own personality and each origin has its own appeal. The glow of a Zambian Emerald, the clarity of Ethiopian and Siberian, the depth of Colombian and Brazilian Emeralds - they’re all divine!

“My husband proposed with a gorgeous antique Emerald. Very sadly, the original stone was damaged a couple of years ago. I was heartbroken, but I know I’ll find another beautiful Emerald to set inside it and it will all become a part of my ring’s story.”

Who do you admire the most and why?

“My parents - they are such good, kind, honest, hard working and brilliant people who are open minded. They listen, laugh and love unconditionally.

“They’ve both lived a life of helping others and bringing people together - basically, they are just the best!”

What is your favourite place in the world and why?

“I’ve always loved travelling and, before having kids, I worked in Tanzania, travelled to Australia and South America, Malaysia, Indonesia and lots of Europe.

“My husband and I look forward to travelling more in the future as a family of four, and the kids love hearing about our various adventures!

“All that said, my favourite place is still Aberdyfi in Wales. The long sweeping beach, the colourful houses, the ice cream, and most importantly the many happy memories made there with family and friends.

“We even called our son Idris, after our favourite mountain Cadair Idris!”

What are your guilty pleasures?

“Too many to list! Chocolate, gin and tonic, red wine and cheese are all at the top of my list - but they’re not really naughty, are they!?”

What was your dream job growing up?

“It changed like the wind! I don’t know if I ever had a dream job as such - I just knew I wanted to travel and do something creative.

“I did always love sparkly things when I was really little, so when I started working for Gemporia my family said it felt like destiny!”

What advice would you give for choosing a piece of jewellery?

“Go with your heart. Give yourself the opportunity to try it on and you will know if it’s right or not. You’ll feel it!”

What quote/motto do you like to live by?

“Throw yourself into everything you do with enthusiasm and passion.”
