We’ve always prided ourselves on the journey you go on as a customer when you collect pieces of jewellery from Gemporia. We work tirelessly to ensure you get the highest quality jewellery at the best possible price, and we’ve done this by removing as many unnecessary steps from the process as possible. A little while ago we realised that for all the steps we’d removed from the process before you purchased your jewellery, we’d done nothing to make life easier after you’d received a piece from us. Thankfully, we can now put this right. Allow us to introduce Gemporia Aftercare – our new jewellery repair and care service.

Jewellery Repair Service

The Gemporia Aftercare team, a dedicated group of experienced professional jewellers, have set up a fully operational workshop where they can resize, fix and clean jewellery pieces to impeccable standards, restoring damaged pieces back to their former glory. The service has been operating for a while now, and we always want to take the opportunity to shed more light on the operation.

While initially the workshop was our best-kept secret, it’s now at the stage where we can shout about it from the rooftops, and we have an incredibly talented team to handle the most delicate and specialist tasks. Whether it's resizing, repairing or otherwise, Gemporia Aftercare means that we don't need to direct you to a high street jewellers - everything can be done in-house.

Jewellery Repair

Our standard services include resizing, repairing and various alterations, and we also have a huge variety of replacement gemstones to repair your piece if a stone falls out. Additionally, if we haven't got a particular gemstone in the building, we can source it - it can take a few weeks, but we are usually always able to find a replacement.

Overall, the best thing about our Aftercare team (aside from their huge array of jewellery repair skills), is that if you have an issue with your piece that's outside our standard list of services, the team can take a look anyway. They can provide a recommendation on what steps to take to restore your piece, and quote for this work accordingly. No work is done without permission from the customer, and everything that is done to the piece is 100% approved by the owner.

Repairing Jewellery

It's easy to see why our Gemporia Aftercare team is so impressive, and we consider it to be one of the most valuable parts of our business because, no matter how careful one can be with their jewellery, accidents can happen. We are privileged to be able to offer this in-house service, because it means that we're able to keep our service prices so low in comparison with stand-alone businesses.

When it comes to working in the jewellery repair trade, knowledge and expertise is vital. It's important for the team to know just how different each type of stone is, and the quirks and characteristics of each one; for example, certain gemstones can show a permanent alteration in colour if they get too hot, which is taken into account when jewellery with these gemstones is being repaired.

The members of our Aftercare team have worked on these gemstones for many years, and have grown to learn the required amount of patience for dealing with particular types of gems. Gemstone jewellery is meant to be treasured, and that's why no expense has been spared in creating our Aftercare service.

Replacing Missing Gemstones

Our workshop has a vast array of top-of-the-range machinery including a laser welder and a polishing room, with the best extraction system in the world. We are generously equipped for any possible repair task that may arise - plus, we have the ability to polished and plate your pieces to an consistently high standard. The hallmark is arguably the most important aspect of a jewellery piece, so we make sure that, if our repair work requires us to damage the hallmark, we re-hallmark it in line with both the law and our customer expectation.

Our Aftercare service has been working at full capacity since 2017, and customer feedback has been excellent so far. Once a repair is complete, the piece is dispatched using the same method as when you buy new jewellery from us; this means that you can be sure that your piece will arrive quickly and safely back to you. All our services include complimentary return postage, and if you decide not to go ahead with the work for any reason, the return postage is all you pay.
