I've wanted a Lehrer seahorse for a couple of years now, but had never had the money at the right time for one.
When Gemporia showed the seahorse, they had a phone torch shining behind it and said it was Fire Agate, which does have the depper red, as opposed to carnelian, which is a brighter orange. Due to the torch light it did look like a fire blend between orange and red.
When the seahorse was received, it was labelled as carnelian, and was a pale orange. I was disappointed. They then told me that the description of it being fire agate was incorrect.
Deflated, after selling a ring to buy the seahorse, I was in 2 mins about whether to send it back. A friend messaged and said they had a sale code for £75 off, and once carnelian one was in stock.
I couldn't really afford to order another, but I wanted to see if it was a different shade. Thankfully it was deeper orange, with more yellow shining through when held up in the sun. They wouldn't price match the first one ordered 2 days earlier, because it wasn't being shown on TV in that moment.
I send the £300 one back and much prefer the £225 one. I would have loved it to be fire agate, because I got it to match a ring, but it's very pretty, once the initial disappointment has worn off and I will be keeping it.
Gemporia are quick to answer the phone, and always polite, and the refund was done in a good amount of time, so a mixed bag. I would definitely advise you be careful, when looking at how they're lighting up their products, I didn't realise it was a black phone with a torch until I'd ordered. What is on screen can be quite different to what you get.
The first photo is as ordered, the second one received. I'm still very glad to finally have a seahorse
