Koh-I-Nur replica cut

The famous Koh-i-Nur Diamond was supposedly cut from 739 carats to 105 carats in its present state.

The famous Koh-i-nur Diamond has been cut and re-cut so many times throughout history, that it’s probably safe to assume that its current shape must therefore be one of the most developed gem cuts ever!

The gem is oval in shape and features a smaller than normal table facet surrounded by kite and triangular shaped facets that almost flow in curve -like patterns away from its centre. When studying the cut from the table, through the small window at the top of the gem a flower shaped pavilion can be seen which has eight petal-like shapes connecting to a flowerbud-like centre.

I love this gem cut so much, that we have invested a lot of time in reproducing the cut and our lapidarists have made us proud by creating our “Koh-i-Nur Replica Cut”.

Now before you go calling up your solicitor concerned about buying a copy of a famous gemstone cut, let me save you the hassle by informing you that the cut is not patented and therefore, as long as it is made clear that it is a replica, then the Queen is not going to get upset. Anyway, as the gem weight needs to be in excess of 5ct to be really effective, then it’s unlikely that your Koh-i-Nur replica cut is going to be a Diamond!
