| 4 min read

The Royal Engagement has been announced an it's official - Price Harry will marry Meghan Markle on Saturday 19th May 2018! But did you see the engagement ring? The beautiful Diamond trilogy itself may be a one-of-a-kind, but we've raided our vaults for similar looks and stylish trilogies that you can add to your collection without breaking the bank.

We love a good Royal Wedding here at Gemporia, so the 19th May 2018 can't come soon enough! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement to the world on Monday 27th November 2017, giving us all a first glimpse at that staggeringly beautiful ring. The engagement ring has been custom made by Cleave & Company of Buckingham Place, London, and features three large, beautifully white Diamonds set into yellow gold, Meghan Markle's favourite. Prince Harry designed the ring himself, choosing Diamonds that hold special meaning to both himself and his bride-to-be. The largest stone, the central Diamond, was sourced in Botswana, where the happy couple spent time together in the early weeks of their relationship, while the accenting stones were taken from a piece of Princess Diana's jewellery collection.

In an interview given shortly after the announcement, Harry said of the accent Diamonds, "[They] are from my mother’s jewellery collection to make sure that she’s with us on this crazy journey together". The individual gemstones in a trilogy have long been said to represent past, present and future and are also associated with friendship, love and fidelity. Very early estimates on how much the ring may have cost placed it around the £50,000 ($67,000) mark, although without detailed information on the exact clarity, size and cut of the stone's it's hard to know exactly what a replica would set you back. However, to celebrate this momentous event, we dived into our jewellery vault to search for similar pieces and stylish trilogies that will allow you to approximate the same look without costing you the Earth.
