World Bank to Support Artisanal Mining

The World Bank have announced that they are going to support small independent mining operations in Tanzania.

You have heard the saying “give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach him to fish and feed him for a lifetime”. Well, we were pleased to hear that the World Bank have pledged to provide $40 million to support artisanal mining in Tanzania. The World Bank have recognised that one of the greatest ways out of poverty is to provide loans to support small artisanal miners. That’s great news for us gem lovers too, as it might lead to the discovery of more gems in the region.
