CARBON NEUTRAL AT GEMPORIA
This month, Earth Month, we celebrate the beauty of Mother Earth; it’s a time to raise environmental awareness and create consciousness around the issues that affect our planet. Businesses account for a huge part of the UK’s total Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG), which is why we have worked hard - and continue to work hard - to tackle our own Carbon Footprint.
By providing only ethically sourced gemstones, switching to more eco-friendly packaging and reducing the energy consumption in the delivery of products from international suppliers, we have done a lot to change how we operate. We aren’t perfect, and we know that there is still much to improve upon, but it is a goal we are 100% committed to.
Did you know that with your support, we can reduce our environmental impact even further? Here are just a few ways you can help:
All of our jewellery packaging is recyclable. So, once you have opened up your treasure, please don’t throw it away - recycle it instead!
If you have your eye on more than one item, consider placing them all in the same order in order to reduce emissions from delivery vehicles - you’ll save some money, too!
If you’re not at home when items are delivered to you, consider walking or cycling to your local post office to collect them.
According to the MIT Centre for Transportation and Logistics, choosing standard delivery rather than premium can help to decrease carbon emissions by around 30%.
