Perhaps you have no idea what you’re looking for and are feeling totally lost and overwhelmed by the sheer number of options available on the market – don’t panic! You’re in safe hands with our helpful guides.

So what’s all the fuss about?

Engagement rings date at least as far back as the Romans. They were traditionally worn on the fourth finger of the left hand, as it was believed that a vein ran directly from this finger to the heart.

The engagement ring tradition was more firmly cemented in the Middle Ages, when Marriage Banns were introduced. An engagement ring was used as a visible symbol of impending marriage, to help prevent clandestine marriages.

With such a long tradition, an engagement ring is still steeped in symbolism – the ultimate declaration of love. Since it is such a significant piece of jewellery, it is incredibly important that it is just right.
