Here at Gemporia we are looking at innovative ways to bring you gemstones to adorn your body, mind and spirit and are so excited to bring to you our first Gemstone Eau De Parfum. Jainey Bennett tells us more.
I have been developing this perfume for the past 12 months and am so very excited to finally be able to unveil it.
Perfumes evoke emotions. Our sense of smell is directly linked to the emotional and memory centers in our brain, which are all bound up in the limbic system, the most ancient part of the brain. This means that when we smell, we literally feel and create memories. No other sense has this kind of impact on the brain.
Cosmopolitan Magazine once wrote, “As well as being the ultimate weapon of seduction in your beauty arsenal, perfume can shape your identity, motivate your moods and boost your confidence. Arm yourself with scents that ground you but are deliciously addictive – and prepare to feel empowered, admired and desired”.
Studies have shown that women feel more confident when wearing perfume than when they don’t wear any. I wanted to choose a gemstone that really reflected the idea of confidence and empowerment and what better gem to use than Black Onyx?
I just love the powerful energy that Black Onyx evokes, its bold, it’s seductive and it is said to increase intuition and focus. It is certainly a stone of confidence.
For the fragrance itself, we have blended a number of oils that have a positive effect on our wellbeing, such as citrus. This is known to boost the production of serotonin, a hormone that makes us feel happy. I have also used Benzoin Oil that raises and lifts the spirit.
The Notes you will experience are:
- Top Notes: Cinnamon, Pepper, Orange and Pimento
- Middle Notes: Carnation, Jasmine, Rose, Ylang Ylang
- Base Notes: Vanilla, Benzoin, Patchouli
I really wanted the perfume to be presented in an opulent way, so I have added faceted gemstones inside the bottle. Not only that, but the bottle itself has also been faceted. The box it is presented in also has that air of opulence, as the bottle is cradled in silky black fabric.
