We asked Gemporia presenter Ruth Linnett what her five favourite pieces from the Gemporia jewellery vaults were, and what she loved so much about them. Here are her selections.

This is such a striking vibrant variety of Sapphire! I have a couple of hot pinks in my collection now and I still can’t get over the carat weights we’ve been able to offer for the price! For me this is the most classic symbol of love, beauty and femininity made so affordable set into silver.

Who doesn’t love Pearls? I’ve lost count of the amount of Pearl earrings I now own, but Baroque and Kaori have to be in there. Every one is unique and they represent Mother Nature at her finest. This design mixes elegance, beauty and style with a contemporary twist. I’m loving dangly drop earrings at the moment and these are stunning.

These bracelets are so versatile, fun and fabulous – I adore them! The clever little slider allows you to keep them in place on your wrist and they’re so on trend. I love that you can collect them in lots of different gemstones now and they make wonderful gifts… from me to me!

Our Lorique natural Diamonds are the most magnificent bespoke collection of one-off pieces. You get the best of both worlds – the sparkle, fire and brilliance of a Diamond, mixed with a palette of dazzling colours such as champagne, chocolate and pink. I’m very lucky to own one of these pieces and I’ve had so many compliments on it. The size of the Diamonds, the setting and the style make this a must have piece.

My husband proposed with a Paraiba and Diamond ring, as he knows it’s my favourite gem of them all! It has the most exciting glow and is so incredibly rare. A must-have for any collector, in whatever size you can afford, this for me is the queen of all gemstones and I adore it against white gold.
