Mined by hand at 4000 feet above sea level, with only pick-axes and chisels in the Anatolian Mountains in Turkey, this gemstone demonstrates the "colour change" phenomenon. Until the recent introduction of modern lapidary skills, the gem was extremely difficult to cut, and on the rare occasion the gem was discovered, it was never faceted.
Csarite demonstrates beautifully delicate colours and colour-change which takes it from soft greens through to light peachy pinks.
